Power Supply

All Irinos boxes are powered by a common 24 V supply. This voltage can be fed into the Irinos system either via the L-coded M12 socket on the master (-> preferred method) or via an SC-Link connector. It is looped through to the other Irinos boxes via the ILink cable.

The Irinos boxes for digital inputs/outputs (SC-DIO) are an exception: for some variants, the 24 V power supply for the inputs/outputs must be fed in separately.

IR-PU power supplies are used for the power supply.

The voltages required for measurement and communication are generated internally via galvanically isolated DC/DC converters and, where necessary, downstream linear regulators (see figure). This means that the internal voltages of several Irinos boxes are completely isolated from one another. This enhances immunity to interference, which is essential for accurate measurement results. Furthermore, it prevents the formation of ground loops.

Please note, however, that a stable and low-noise 24 V power supply is essential for trouble-free operation of the Irinos system.  Please use an IR-PU power supply unit for this purpose.
