System Overview

Within an industrial measurement system, the Irinos system handles the hardware-related and time-critical functions.

It enables the simple connection of various sensors, e.g. inductive probes or incremental encoders. Control functions can also be integrated via a directly connectable foot or hand switch, as well as via digital inputs and outputs.

The measured values and I/O data are transmitted to the PC in a normalized format via standard Ethernet and processed further in the measurement software:

For time-critical applications, synchronous real-time data acquisition is possible. To achieve this, the Irinos system records the measured values simultaneously, buffers them temporarily and forwards them to the PC in sorted form. A key feature here is that the system is independent of the PC’s timing behaviour. Concentricity and form measurements are therefore possible even on laptop PCs without specialised hardware or real-time functionality. The connection to the measurement computer software is established via a Windows DLL, which can be accessed via the Windows API. The DLL is compatible with all current versions of Windows (e.g. Windows 11).

Thanks to its open architecture, the Irinos system can be combined with measurement computers and measurement software from various other manufacturers.
