Manipulation of measured values

The Irinos system features an integrated measurement value manipulation function which comes into play when an error is detected at a measurement input that renders the measurement value unusable. In such cases, a default value is supplied in place of the measurement value for as long as the error persists. This function depends on the input type.

It is particularly useful when the application is carrying out a probe monitoring function. Probe monitoring can, for example, be implemented such that a probe must be displaced by at least the distance x between two measurements. If this is not the case, the measurement is deemed to have failed.

Measurement value manipulation is always carried out when the master box does not receive any measurement data from the slave boxes, i.e. when a communication error occurs. This is usually caused by faulty or inadequate ILink cabling (broken cable, connectors not properly secured, etc.).

Furthermore, the timing of when a measured value adjustment is carried out depends on the specific input type:
