Temperature cables

Although temperature measurement using thermocouples is very common in measurement technology, it does have some unfavourable characteristics:

1.Due to the measuring principle, the measurement signals from thermocouple sensors have only a very small potential difference. This means that the measured voltages are in the µV range and are therefore very sensitive.

2.The leads of thermocouple sensors are generally unshielded.

 

To ensure an interference-free measurement signal, the following points must therefore be observed when routing the temperature leads:

1.Keep the temperature leads as short as possible. The Irinos system allows the Irinos boxes to be positioned very close to the sensor.

2.Ensure that the temperature cables are routed in an interference-free environment. Adjacent motor cables or power supply cables are particularly problematic.
The cables of inductive sensors and incremental encoders are not a problem, if they are properly shielded.
