Input frequency

The input frequency of the incremental signals (TTL / RS422) or division periods (1 Vpp) is limited. Please refer to the technical specifications of the relevant Irinos box for further details.

For most measurement processes, the theoretical input frequency is well below the limit value. In practice, however, sudden movements may cause this limit to be exceeded. Examples of this include:

o‘Jerking’ from a standstill (overcoming static friction)

oMechanical impact

oAbrupt movement caused by mechanical stresses

We recommend taking this into account as early as the mechanical design stage. If an abrupt movement cannot be avoided, this must be taken into account during the measurement procedure or when evaluating the measurement signal (e.g. by performing a reference calibration whilst the movement is taking place).
